Tended: postnatal healing for mothers
Somewhere along the way we decided that six weeks was enough.
Six weeks and you're signed off. Six weeks and the focus shifts entirely to the baby. Six weeks and the assumption is that you're recovered, adjusted, fine.
But nobody told your body that. Nobody told your nervous system, still running at the level it needed to just to get through birth. Nobody told your hormones, dropping off a cliff in the weeks that follow. Nobody told the version of you that is quietly trying to figure out who she is now, what she lost, what she's grieving, what this new life actually asks of her.
The truth is that the postnatal period isn't six weeks. For most women it's closer to eighteen months - often longer. And for most of that time, nobody is checking in on you. Nobody is asking about your depletion, your sleep, your nervous system, your sense of self. The system has moved on. Everyone has moved on.
But you're still in it.
What is Tended?
Tended is a 1:1 healing session just for you. No baby on your chest, no one else's needs in the room - just an hour that belongs entirely to you.
It's for the mother who is functioning but running on empty. Who has lost the thread of who she was before. Who is so used to tending to everyone else that being tended to herself feels almost unfamiliar.
Every session is shaped around what you need that day - drawing from Reiki, sound healing, somatic breathwork, guided meditation and Qigong. Some sessions go deep into stillness and restoration. Some start with movement and breath because your body needs to shake something off before it can receive. There's no fixed structure, no agenda, no performance required.
You just come as you are.
What you'll leave with
Not a to-do list. Not advice. Just the feeling of being replenished rather than depleted - and a little more connected to the woman underneath the mother. That part of you hasn't gone anywhere. She just hasn't had much airtime lately.
Tended is for you if:
You're in the postnatal period and running so far below empty you've stopped noticing
You had a difficult pregnancy, birth or feeding journey and your body is still carrying it
You're experiencing postnatal anxiety, low mood or a quiet loss of identity that's hard to name
You're six weeks postpartum, or six months, or fourteen months - and nobody has really asked how you are
You just need an hour that has nothing to do with being a mother
Tended is a somatic and energy healing offering. It sits beautifully alongside any clinical or medical support you're receiving - it's not a replacement for it.
What to expect
You arrive. You put everything down. For sixty minutes the only thing that matters is you.
I work with whatever you're carrying that day - physically, emotionally, energetically. Some of that you'll be able to name. Some of it your body will show me before you even find the words. Either way, we begin there.
Sessions are held Parsons Green, Richmond, Teddington and Kingston.
60 minutes - £115
“I didn’t realise quite how much I needed this hour for me, as mum but not only mum. Katy worked intuitively and helped me shift something I hadn’t realised I was carrying - thank you.” TT

The intention and framing are specific to the postnatal experience. The depletion, the identity shift, the nervous system load of new motherhood - these shape how I work with you. It's not a generic healing session with a postnatal label on it. It's designed for where you actually are.
-
There's no upper limit. Tended is for the full postnatal arc - the early weeks, the four month cliff when the support around you drops away, and everything beyond that. If you're still in it, it's for you.

One session can create a real shift. But depletion this deep usually builds over time, and so does recovery. If you want to come regularly, we can talk about what that looks like. A programme is also something I offer for mothers who want more sustained support.

Tended is designed as a space just for you. If you'd like to come with your baby, Held - my mum and baby healing session - might be a better fit. Both exist because both are needed.
I'm not sure I'm struggling enough to deserve this.
You are. That's all.
Want to bring your baby along? Held is our mum and baby healing session.
