ROOT & REST
A morning retreat of forest bathing, Qigong, sound and tea
Make Soul Space × The Wild Pause
18 October | 10am–2pm | Richmond Park
An autumn afternoon among the trees. Slow down, let your senses lead, move with the forest and settle into deep rest.
Two ancient practices, brought together in the woodland
Shinrin-yoku, Japan
Forest bathing is a slow, sensory immersion in the woodland that gently draws you out of your head and into the present through sound, texture, light, scent and the changing landscape around you.
Qigong, China
Qigong has long drawn inspiration from the rhythms and movements of nature. How trees root, how water flows, how animals move. It was made to be practised outdoors among the trees, so in the woods it comes home.
How the day unfolds
Arrive and ground
We meet at Pembroke Lodge and take a few quiet moments together to breathe, arrive and let the week fall away.
Wander with the senses
Linda guides a slow walk through the woodland with gentle sensory invitations. You'll notice sound, texture, light and the smell of the trees as the forest gradually draws you out of your head.
Qigong among the trees
Katy leads soft, flowing Qigong beneath the canopy. You'll root down like the trees and breathe with the forest, letting your energy settle and your body come back to life.
Deep rest with sound
Lie back on the earth while sound washes over you. This is where your nervous system can finally soften and let go.
Tea to close
We finish together over tea, with space to reflect and notice what has shifted before you head back into your day.
No experience needed. Everything is gentle and invitational, and sharing is always optional.
