Katy Wickings teaching a Qigong class

Qigong

Move gently. Build energy. Come home to yourself.

There's a particular kind of exhaustion that comes from giving too much.

From absorbing the energy of everyone around you. From walking into a room and immediately scanning it. From feeling other people's moods land in your body before you've even said a word.

Qigong is for that.

It's the practice that has changed my relationship with myself more than anything else I've found. Not because it's intense or demanding - but because it's taught me, slowly and gently, what it feels like to be protected. To move through a day and not come home depleted. To feel less at the mercy of other people's energy and more rooted in my own.

If you're someone who overgi ves, keeps the peace, or finds yourself carrying what isn't yours - this practice was made for you.

What is Qigong?

Rooted in ancient Chinese tradition, Qigong combines gentle coordinated movement, conscious breathing and mindful focus to cultivate and balance your body's vital energy - known as qi (or chi).

Don't let the word ancient put you off. This is deeply practical, accessible work. You don't need experience, flexibility or any particular level of fitness. You simply need to show up.

Sessions are gentle but don't mistake gentle for passive - Qigong builds real heat in the body, gets energy moving, and leaves you feeling more alive and more yourself than when you arrived.

Over time the practice builds something quieter and more lasting: a felt sense of protection. An inner steadiness that holds, even when life around you doesn't.

For studios and venues

I teach weekly Qigong classes at Salt Studios in Richmond (Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays), and I'm open to bringing classes to other studios and venues too.

I didn't come to Qigong to add a qualification. I came to it in the middle of my own healing - it's the practice that's changed my relationship with myself more than anything else I've found, long before I trained to teach it. That's part of what shapes how I teach: not just technique, but a real, felt understanding of what this practice can do for someone who's depleted, overgiving, or disconnected from their body.

Qualified Qigong instructor (2026), following a year of dedicated personal practice beforehand. Sessions are gentle, accessible and suited to complete beginners as well as returning practitioners - which makes them easy to slot into a varied class timetable.

If you're looking for a Qigong teacher for your studio - or a one-off session or event - get in touch and I'll tell you more about how I run a class.

One-to-one Qigong sessions

60 minutes | £102 | Online or in person

A personalised session built entirely around you. One-to-one work allows us to go deeper - moving at your pace, working with what your body and energy field need that day, and tailoring the practice to what you're carrying right now.

Many clients find the individual sessions bring a quality of connection and energetic shift that's harder to access in a group setting. If you're drawn to using Qigong as part of a deeper healing journey, this is where to begin.

Available online or in person across Richmond, Teddington and Kingston.

A note from me

Qigong has been the practice that has changed my life more quietly and more profoundly than anything else.

I came to it through my own healing - and what I found was something I hadn't known I was looking for. A feeling of protection. Of being in my body in a way that felt safe. Of moving through a day and not coming home empty.

I feel it now as a kind of inner steadiness. Less vulnerable to the energy of others. More present in my own.

That's what I want to share with you.

Qualified in 2026, I now teach this practice weekly and would love to bring it to your space too.
